It was a dark and stormy morning, but like clockwork, the rain stopped just in time for the start of the 6 th annual Willamette Park orienteering meet. A rather large downpour starting around 8am dumped about half an inch of rain right before the start, making the courses a bit slippery and muddy. Doug Pollock – who was involved in the previous incarnation of Corvallis orienteering in the late 80’s and 90’s – brought his family out to brave some of the more challenging controls on the orange course. Kristel Fesler and her mom, Laurine, were doing their second orienteering course of all time. Paula Whipple and Jeff Watson posted the fasted times on the yellow and orange courses, respectively.
Thanks to Jeff and Paula for covering starts, finishes, registration, and help with picking up controls and to Dave Derlacki for getting the park permit!
